Ogun State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Olatokunbo Olopade has reminded members of staff of Ogun State Judiciary especially potential retirees of the fact of life that the race of 35 years sojourn will terminate one day and charged them to braise up for the challenges ahead.
This charge was handed down by the Hon. CJ while delivering her welcome address during the opening ceremony of A 3-Day Entrepreneurship Development Workshop organized by the Management of Ogun State Judiciary in collaboration with The Industrial Training Fund, Ogun State Branch for potential retirees in the State Judiciary.
Addressing participants at the occasion, Hon. Justice Olopade noted that the events in the last couple of years in Nigeria have shown and indeed given credence to the fact that only a foolish person will sit back and wait for government to determine his course of life.
According to her, “we are in an era where resources available to government at various levels have virtually made it impossible to pay Pensions and Gratuities of retirees as at when due”.
“It is in view of the above scenario that we have thought it fit and proper to have a workshop of this nature to ginger us up and get us prepare for our future outside Government Service, and I believe after this 3 days workshop, we would be well equipped to enjoy life in Retirement” Olopade stated.
Speaking earlier, Hon. Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje, the Chairman Training Committee of Ogun State Judiciary thanked the Hon. Chief Judge for her commitment to training and retraining of staff in the State Judiciary.
He then charged all the participants to avail themselves of the opportunities the Workshop which he said was designed to help them develop an income stream that can last them throughout their life time will offer them.
