An Ogun State High Court sitting in Abeokuta has sentenced one Mr. Kehinde Olugbemi, a dismissed Bailiff in the service of Ogun State Judiciary to seven years imprisonment with hard labour for official corruption and stealing of a compressor worth Two Million, One Hundred Thousand Naira (N2.1m)

According to the 2 count charge brought against the accused person, Mr. Kehinde Olugbemi sometime in June, 2013 at Ogun State High Court, Isabo in the Abeokuta Judicial Division being under the employment of the State Judiciary as Bailiff corruptly converted a Compressor in the possession of the State Judiciary and sold same for N2.1m.

Delivering the Judgment on the matter on 24th April, 2017, Hon. Justice Abiodun Akinyemi, the trial Judge sitting at High Court 5, Isabo, Abeokuta held that the Prosecuting Counsel from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions in the State had proved their case beyond reasonable doubt and therefore found the accused person guilty of the two offences as charged.

Consequently, the accused person, Mr. Kehinde Olugbemi was then sentenced to seven years imprisonment with hard labour.
