Court Registrars at the Magistrate and High Courts of Ogun State have been charged to be impartial, more professional, uphold the rule of law and serve the public with honour and dignity in the discharge of their duties.

The Chief Judge of Ogun State, Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu gave the charge at a one-day refresher training course organised for Registrars in the State Judiciary held at the Judiciary Complex in Abeokuta.

Enlightening the participants on the important role in case flow management, Hon. Justice Dipeolu enjoined them to ensure that they always have early control of cases by making sure they are duly registered in the Court Register.

The Chief Judge added that Court Registrars “must abide by the letters of the code of conduct for court employees which harps on the accountability of resources, property, funds and confidentiality of information, do your best therefore to be upright as this administration has zero tolerance for indolence and corruption.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Training Committee, Hon. Justice Olarenwaju Mabekoje, said the training which aimed to improve the performance and efficiency of the participants in the discharge of their duties, was also organised to address the fabric of their duties and official conducts including Discipline, Comportment, Decorum, handling of court processes, mental & physical health related cases.

Facilitators at the refresher course for the Registrars were Hon. Justice E.O Osinuga who spoke on “Discipline, Comportment, Decorum and how to handle Court Processes”, Mrs Mojirayo Adeogun, (a physiotherapist) and Dr. Abayomi Oladige (a Consultant Psychiatrist) who facilitated on topics from “Economic solutions to work related Musculoskeletal disorders” and “Workplace mental health challenges in a challenging economy” respectively.

The Ogun State Judiciary periodically organises refresher training courses for all cadres of its staff to bring them at par to latest developments in their various scopes of work.
