Chief Judge of Ogun State, Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu has urged stakeholders in the administration of Justice in Ogun State to make children and women rights a priority in this modern day society.

The Chief Judge made gave admonition during a courtesy call made by the National Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Ogun State chapter to his office at State Judiciary Complex, Abeokuta.

International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) is a non-governmental organisation comprising women in the legal profession working for the actualisation of children and women’s rights protection.

Chairman of the Organisation, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwakemi Ayanleye pointed out that financial constraint has been one of the major challenges facing the organisation charging offenders found culpable for such act, noting that protection of the rights of women and children over the years has been the primary goal of the organisation.

She enumerated the operations of organization as being war against gender – based violence, child abuse, domestic violence and other vulnerable members of the society.

Ayanleye further appreciated the Management of Ogun State Judiciary for their collaborative roles against gender based violence which she said is becoming rampant in our society, maintaining that the body will not relent in its efforts towards engaging stakeholders in the administration of Justice and countless trainings for effective conduct and result.

Responding, Hon Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu reiterated his lordship’s administrations’ commitment towards fighting against gender based violence urging that sensitisation  programme on the war against child abuse with viable resource persons, stakeholders and agencies for supports will go a long way in checkmating the excessive act in the society.
