The Chief Judge of Ogun State on 28th September, 2020 swore in 72 Assessors at the Ogun State Judiciary Complex, Kobape.

Noting the welfare of children as paramount, Justice Dipeolu identified this as what prompted the creation of the Ogun State Family Court as provided for, under the Child Rights Law, Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006. Accordingly, the sworn in assessors are to assist the Family Court in the dispensation of Justice as stipulated by section 152 & 153 Laws of Ogun State. The newly sworn assessors shall be assigned to work at the Six (6) Magisterial Districts namely; Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode, Ota, Sagamu, Ilaro and Ado-Odo Ota.

Present at the Swearing in ceremony held at Ceremonial Court, Ogun State Judiciary Complex, Abeokuta were the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Akingbolahan Adenira, his counterpart from Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Oluwafunmilayo Efuwape and Special Adviser to the Governor on Woman Affairs, Hon. Adijat Oladapo-Adeleye among others.

The Chief Judge urged newly appointed assessors to make further positive impact to the wheel of Justice in Ogun State and avoid any act that is inimical to its progress.
