A Judiciary well equipped with strong ethical standard can never lose its moral strength or stature to dispense justice in the face of any attack.
This was the assertion of the Ogun State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu at a Special Court Sitting, officially introducing the five newly appointed Hon. Judges to the bench, bar and the public at the Judiciary Complex, Abeokuta.
The Chief Judge emphasised that because “Judicial accountability is a facet of the independence of the judiciary, the rule of law which is the bedrock of democracy will be adversely affected if the independence of the judiciary is compromised by the erosion of the integrity of the Judiciary”.
The newly introduced Honourable Judges are Hon. Justice Adeyemi Adewole, Hon. Justice Philip Akinside, Hon. Justice Olukemi Osisanya, Hon. Justice Idowu Odugbesan, Hon. Justice Titilayo Bello.
Charging the Hon. Judges on objectivity in the discharge of their duties, the Chief Judge admonished them to ensure the promotion and safeguard the rule of law without fear, favour or ill-will.
The Ogun State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Oluwasina Ogungbade who congratulated the newly introduced Judges on their elevation to the higher bench, pledges support for the administration of Justice in the State.
